Ginger Simpson retired from the University of California as
an advocate for students. While there, her involvement in
editing and creating publications/forms led her to believe
she could write a novel similar to those historical romances
she loves so well. Her debut novel was published by small
press in 2003. Since then, she’s written a total of eight
books and five novellas, all contracted for publication.
Writing is in her blood.
Several of Ginger’s works have been
nominated for awards and recognized as yearly best reads on
well-known romance sites. The reviews she’s received have
been extremely favorable, with her first book receiving four
stars from the Romantic Times Magazine. She joined EPIC in
its infancy, and maintains membership on as many promotional
loops as she can find, such as Bebo, Bookplace, Bookface,
Shelfari, Communicati, and Facebook. Besides her own
website and blog, she also is an avid user of Myspace and
Boomerspace. It is her belief that promotion is
never-ending and the essential key to success.
Born and raised in California, she
never planned to leave, but a few years ago, her grandson
was diagnosed with developmental delays, and she moved to
Tennessee. Now she spends her time writing with Sponge Bob
Square Pants, Thomas the Train, and Sprout TV playing in the
background. It isn’t as inspiring as the smooth jazz she
enjoys, but there is great delight in knowing she’s making a
difference in Spencer’s life. Husband, Kelly is a wonderful
supporter and her biggest fan. He brags that he is the
inspiration behind the romantic scenes in his wife’s books.
She won’t confirm one way or the other.
Ginger recognized a dream with the
publication of her first book, but her real hope is to see
her work more readily available to the general public. She
has two books coming out in 2008 with two more in the
works. At age sixty-two, she reminds herself that you are
never too old to achieve your goals. Grandma Moses is her
heroine.
